Can I use household cleaners on my hot tub shell?

No. Household cleaners contain surfactants that cause persistent foaming. Use a spa-grade Tile and Liner Cleaner only.

What is biofilm in a hot tub?

A slime layer of bacteria that grows inside warm wet plumbing. It sheds into the water as cloudy or smelly bits and shrugs off normal sanitiser doses.

Do I need to flush the pipework on every drain?

Yes for best results. Hot tubs hold up to half their water in pipework where sanitiser cannot reach efficiently.
